A Birthday party for Earring the Vulture

Since Quinn started using her VTech laptop and learned "V" is for "Vulture", she's had this "thing" about vultures. Mostly she's scared of them. Sometimes she pretends to run from them attacking her in the house. Sometimes she wakes at night afraid of the vulture in her room. But when we saw an actual vulture in our neighborhood drag a bloody animal carcass off the street onto the sidewalk, she didn't seem to think much of it. Puzzling.

Recently, Quinn was having trouble sleeping because she was again scared of the vulture in her room. So I made up a story. I told her that the vulture sure is ugly, but it's not his fault. He's actually a great guy, he's even really funny and tells the best jokes. The story went on from there and Quinn eventually named him Earring. When all was said and done, we decided to throw Earring a birthday party.

The next morning, Quinn remembered everything about the story so we got out her easy bake oven and made cupcakes for Earring's birthday party.

Earring got pink frosting and lots of sprinkles

the cupcakes were gobbled up pretty quickly. Not sure Earring got to eat his.

But we haven't had a worry about vultures since then....
