Sleepy Time

Kellen is having lots of trouble sleeping.  Like a switch, he went from great sleeper to absolutely terrible. And he's bringing us down with him.

I suspect he's suffering from separation anxiety and/or two year molars.

But either way, he can't sleep in his crib unless me or Jas is in there with him. It has taken a couple days to figure it out. I tried to let him cry it out but THAT DID NOT WORK.

So now we sit in the rocking chair and wait until he falls asleep. Sometimes that's 5 minutes, sometimes it's 30. And when he wakes in the middle of the night, he can't put himself back to sleep. Either me or Jas has to go up there. And we've found it's just easier to lay down next to his bed and fall asleep too.

Our bodies are too old for this crud. We haven't slept well going on two weeks now.

But it's a phase right? I know it is. Quinn went through it too.

So when Kellen fell asleep on the couch, I had to grab this photo. He's never done this before. Both kids were protesting sleep that day and as soon as I had them calmed down enough to sit through a tv show, they conked out.

On an unrelated note, how cute is he trying to walk around in mommy's flip flops?!

NOW GO TO SLEEP!

Seems like most children go through this, however, I do not remember you or Heather doing that.
You both were up every night, until you were about 2, then you started sleeping through the night.
It will pass, just as Quinn's did, but hopefully it will be a lot quicker. If his teeth are hurting him, maybe a little ibuprofen an hour before he goes to bed would help. Love you all

Oh, you must be beat! Porter is also waking up with separation anxiety at night. He screams bloody murder when he wakes up in the middle of the night. Usually Casey or I have to go and tickle him for a good half hour and he's good. It seems like Kellen wants/needs a little more than that. I'm sure you've tested everything by this point, but is he getting teeth? Or would he like sleeping in Quinn's room? Thinking of you and hope this phase passes quickly! xo
