Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bars

If it's cold enough where you live and you're in the mood for comfort, these just may do the trick:

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bars

They're rich, dense and very pumpkin-y

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bar recipe found on Pinterest:

~2 cups all-purpose flour
~1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
~3/4 tsp ginger
~1/2 tsp nutmeg
~1/8 tsp allspice
~1/8 tsp cloves
~1 tsp baking soda
~3/4 tsp coarse salt
~1 cup unsalted butter, room temp (2 sticks)
~1 1/4 cup sugar
~1 egg
~2 tsp vanilla
~1 cup pumpkin puree
~12 oz chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350. Line 13x9 pan with foil, leaving overhang on all sides.

2. Whisk together flour, spices, baking soda and salt.

3. Cream together butter and sugar on medium-high until smooth. Beat in egg & vanilla. Beat in pumpkin puree (it will look curdled)

4. Add dry ingredients and mix on low just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

5. Using offset spatula or back of spoon, spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean (or with a few crumbs, not batter). Cool completely in pan.

6. Lift bars from pan using foil. Peel off foil and cut into squares.
